Source of Gogob Waterfall
The source of Gogob waterfall is Ayn Khyout (also written as Aun Khyoot or Khyut), which is in Northern side of Salalah city. Water in the spring rises due to the rain in the monsoon season, which is from end of June to the early September every year.
The water flows from different places within the same area, before it falls from the top of the mountain, making a beautiful waterfall. The water is then collected in natural pools below. Subhan Allah!
Location of Gogob Waterfall
Wadi Khyout is roughly 30 km from Salalah. The drive to this valley is through beautiful Dhofar Mountains. There are multiple ways to reach to Wadi Khyout, via Zeek, or via Sahalnoot, or via Qayroon Hairiti. It will take around half an hour to reach there.
However, getting to the main stream and waterfalls is difficult, and it’s not accessible by car – even 4WD. You have to walk around a kilometer to reach the site of the waterfalls. The walking access can be very slippery due to mist on the sand.
