Salalah Airport (also known as New Salalah Airport) is a state of art airport and first advanced airport in Oman. The new Salalah Airport starred operation on June 15, 2015. Along with the other facilities that this airport offers, one of these is the charged parking facility, both for short term and long term.

Airport Parking Zones
Let’s first start with the various parking zones in the airport. Salalah Airport has three parking areas. All of these are having Parking shades to protect the vehicles from direct sunlight exposure.
Below are the three parking zones:
1. Parking at Arrival and Departure Areas: this parking is for those who are dropping off passengers at departure area or taking passengers from arrival zone. The parking is free for first fifteen minutes only, after which it is charged OMR 1 if the parking is of an hour.
2. Parking Zone P1: This parking zone is in front of the airport building.
3. Parking Zone P2. The parking charges will be same as that of P1.
Salalah Airport Parking Charges
The parking charges / parking tariffs are different for various types of parking. There are two types of parking options – The short term and the long term. As evident from the terms, the short term parking is for lesser time than the long term parking.
The short term parking is for those, who are coming to the airport for dropping off passengers in the departure area or picking up passengers from the arrival area.
The short term parking charges are 600 Biazas (0.6 Omani Rial) for every 30 minutes. This means that if you have parked your vehicle for less than 30 minutes, you will pay 600 biazas. When you park for more than 30 minutes, but less than 1 hour, you will pay 1.2 Omani Rial. Likewise, you will pay 1.8 rials in case of adding 30 mins after the first hour. From 2 hours, your parking will be classified as long term.
The long term parking is for those who are taking a flight and want to park the vehicle in the shaded area till they come back. This facility is used by locals as well as expats.
Long term parking charges are R.O. 2.100 (Two Omani Rials and one hundred Baiza) per day.
These rates are inclusive of VAT, which is applicable in Oman from 2021.
Automatic Parking Fee Payment Machine
There are paying machines at various locations inside Salalah Airport and at parking lot, to pay the parking charges. The machine only takes currency notes of 100 Baiza, 500 Baiza, 1 Omani Rial and 5 Omani Rials. No other denomination of the currency notes is acceptable. Also credit cards are not acceptable.
If you don’t have cash, don’t worry! You can withdraw it from the ATM machine at Departure Lounge of the airport, which dispenses Omani Rial. The minimum amount that will be dispensed is OMR 5 and after that in multiple of OMR 5. You can use any international or local ATM card to withdrawn the money.
If you have a bigger domination note in your wallet that the machine doesn’t accept, you can get it changed from the money exchange at the Departure Lounge inside the terminal. Sometimes you will get the change at Rent a car offices as well, which are located besides the machine.
How Does Salalah Airport Parking Ticket look like?
Salalah Airport Parking Ticket is a printed one, which you will get by pressing the machine at the entry points. Without pressing at these machines, the barrier will not open and your car cannot pass. The parking ticket has a bar code.

Important tip: Keep this parking ticket in a safe place, as you need this to make the payment and also to open the exit barrier.
